Julia M. DeYbarrondo

Julia “Julie” Margarita Davila deYbarrondo was born in New York City on February 21, 1934 and entered eternal life on June 4, 2022. Julie was preceded in death by her parents Berta Useche and Rafael Davila, her sister, Marie, her brother, Anthony “Tony”, her eight miscarried children, Henri Joseph(stillborn), and 1 day old Catherine Mora. She remains present in spirit with her siblings: Fr Rafael Davila, Mickey and Kyle Davila; her husband, Henri de Ybarrondo; her children and their spouses: Julieanne and John Loth, Anna Maria and Joe Mooney, Michelle and Archie Gall, and Henri deYbarrondo; 25 grandchildren and their spouses; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; and especially the care-givers who lovingly cared for both Henri and Julie: Reyna, Mariana, Suyapa, and Cristel. Julie spent time in Venezuela and it held a special place in her heart. Her father was a diplomat for Venezuela, so Julie lived in St. Louis, MO, and Mobile, AL, before the family finally settled in Houston. She attended St. Agnes Academy and the University of St. Thomas where she met her husband, Henri. They were just shy of celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary next week. Julie's greatest treasures were her Catholic faith and her family. Julie dedicated her life to serving others. When she joyfully had her first child, she gave up her teaching position to devote her time to raising her children. Not only was she the rock of her immediate family, she was the cornerstone of care for her extended family. She had a huge, caring heart and would go out of her way to help someone; she never thought of herself. Her large family is in shock and grieving the loss of their loving matriarch. The pallbearers will be her grandsons: Thomas, John, Matthew, Joseph, James, Liam, and Maximilian, and her son, Henri. A visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 9, 2022 in the sanctuary of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway in Houston, Texas. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, June 10, 2022 in the Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel also at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Woodlawn cemetery in Houston, Texas. Afterwards, there will be a gathering back at the Monsignor Jamail Family Center at St. Vincent de Paul from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be prayed for Julie at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel. She had such peace knowing there was a loving workplace and future home for her special granddaughter Mary Catherine.
