David George Leopard

David Leopard, husband, father, friend to many, Ohio State fan, went home to meet the Lord on August 5, 2025, after battling numerous illnesses his last few years of his life. He was 84 years old. He is loved by his wife, son, family and extensive circle of friends. David George Leopard was born on October 17, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio to Ralph Leopard and Sallie Scholtz. David, or Dave as he was affectionately known by many, lived a full life with an untold number of wonderful experiences in different phases of his life including college, marriage, career and retirement. After graduating from Ohio State David began a long career in security and law enforcement with service to the United States Government in the Army and Federal Bureau of Investigation. He continued in the corporate world as a security director for numerous companies in Dallas. After retirement David continued his passion for advocating safety and security to all citizens but especially to senior citizens. He presented to numerous organizations for many years about the risks of identity theft. He was recognized by local and state leaders for his tireless effort to this cause. David was also a founding member and President of the Richardson Tea Party, served as a member of the Texas Silver Haired Legislature and was a representative at the White House Conference on Aging advocating for numerous senior citizen initiatives for several years. He was also very active in the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI. David received the Governor's Volunteer Award for Texas and the Humanitarian Award from the Society of Former Agents of the FBI Foundation. David was extremely active in numerous sports and recreation throughout his life including tennis, baseball, softball, running, triathlons and golf. David enjoyed tennis immensely and met his wife Stephanie playing tennis. David played competitive tennis well into his later years and competed and medaled in numerous Senior Olympic events. In his retirement David was also a racquetball instructor for ten years at the University of Texas at Dallas. As a father David also coached several of his son Erik's baseball and soccer teams and was always there to support all of his sports endeavors and other extracurricular activities. In addition to playing sports David was an avid fan of his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes along with Cleveland and Dallas professional sports teams. The Indians and Rangers were his favorite teams to follow as baseball was David's favorite sport. David also loved to travel with Stephanie and enjoyed many trips across the country as well as abroad. Along with his wife Stephanie, David is survived by numerous family members including: Lauren and Sam Dillard, Bradford and Kelley Bennett, Finley and Miles Bennett Erik and Jessica Leopard; Erika Leopard, Danielle and Adolfo Rosales Lindo, Isaac and Brenda Casas, Ailani, Isai and Matias Casas. Jeff and Elaine Scholtz, Barbara Miller, Janet Smith and Lee Mantia, Patricia Steerman, Lisa Leopard Bynum, Zachary Steerman. David was preceded in death by Ralph and Rita Leopard, Roemer and Sallie Scholtz and James Leopard. Two Memorial Services will be held for David. One service will be held in Dallas in the Chapel of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church (9800 Preston Road Dallas, TX, 75230) on Thursday, August 21st at 1:30pm. A second service will be held in Georgetown at the Sun City Retreat Lone Star Room (1220 Cattleman Drive, Georgetown, TX, 78633) on Friday, September 19th at 1:30pm.
