Angelica Flores

Angelica Flores was born in Laredo, Texas, in 1962 to Julian and Josefina Flores. She passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in The Woodlands, Texas. Angelica was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her devoted sisters, Dina (Ronald) Beaulieu and Graciela (Dennis) Thompson, and nieces and nephews — Monica (Daniel) Rodriguez, Jessica Beaulieu, James (Missy) Thompson, David (Suzanne) Beaulieu, and Andrew (Robyn) Beaulieu. She is also survived by her brother, Jesus (Guadalupe) Flores, and his children, Jesus, Jr., and Melissa (Johnson). She also leaves behind great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and a cherished circle of friends, including Teresa Otto, who was more like a sister to her. Angelica graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed her internal medicine residency in New York City. She practiced medicine in Laredo, Texas, and always had an interest in healthcare quality. Although she enjoyed providing patient care, she transitioned into full-time administrative roles in healthcare quality. She earned a master’s degree in public health at the University of North Carolina. She returned to Laredo to serve as Vice President of Medical Affairs at Laredo Medical Center and Chief Operating Officer of Gateway Community Medical Center. She found her dream job at The Joint Commission, inspecting healthcare facilities, where she helped improve the quality of care that thousands of patients received. Angelica lived a rich life outside of work. She loved a good book, a great film, music, theater, and trying a new recipe. She also had a great love of traveling. Her travels with family and friends took her across the U.S. and to 28 countries. Although she endured many medical problems, she maintained her sunny disposition and “look on the bright side” attitude, and she always expressed gratitude for her abundant blessings. She was truly an inspiration to those privileged to call her a friend. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at half-past nine o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 30th of March, 2026. Followed by A Mass of Christian Burial, which will be celebrated at St. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 26777 Glen Loch Drive, The Woodlands, Texas. A reception will be held in the Domec Hall following Mass. The Rite of Committal and Inurnment will occur at a later date. The family would like to thank Angelica’s healthcare team, including Dr. Mythili Vedala, the physicians and staff at Baylor St. Luke’s Lung Transplant Clinic, and Michelle and Star from Gentiva Hospice. Angelica also wanted to thank Fr. Jose Marquez, who was instrumental in her return to the Catholic church. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in Angelica’s honor be directed to the food bank of your choice.
