Dr. Roxane H. Exezidis

Dr. Roxane H. Exezidis a/k/a "Doc X," was born on August 26, 1950, in Houston, Texas to Kyriakoula Dadinis and Harres Dadinis. She passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 in Sugar Land, Texas. She was preceded in death by Thrasyvoulos Exezidis, and is survived by her three sons, Kyriakos T. Exezidis, Harres T. Exezidis, James T. Exezidis; her daughter, Kyriaki Angeliki T. Exezidis; her son in law, Dennis Hamminga; and her daughter in law, Kelly L. Exezidis. She is also survived by her mother, Kyriakoula Dadinis; her brothers, Harres “Andy” Dadinis, Jr., and Peter H. Dadinis; her sister, Alexandra Barnes; and her grandchildren, Christopher Exezidis, Voulis Exezidis, Lauren Exezidis, Clara Exezidis and Yianni Exezidis. Dr. Roxane H. Exezidis attended Lamar high school and then the University of Houston, where she obtained her Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degrees in Mathematics. She was awarded with the Most Distinguished Researcher Award of North America from the University of Houston. She began her teaching career at Hamilton Middle School in the Heights, then moved on to the University of Houston, followed by Jane Long Middle School, and concluded her career with 47 years at Lamar High School. She taught for a total of 50 years and achieved her final teaching goal of receiving the 50-year teaching pin. Teaching brought her immense joy, and she felt it as her true calling in life. A true teacher who dedicated her life to her profession. Watching her students graduate, achieve their aspirations and grow into adults, filled her heart with joy. In addition to her teaching, Roxane H. Exezidis loved spending time at her church, the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Houston, Texas, where she participated in activities with the Daughters of Penelope and the Sunday School program. She loved going to Waterworld/Astroworld every weekday possible during the summer and visiting Galveston beach on Sundays. When it came to music she was definitely a die hard fan of Elvis and Rod Stewart, and also made sure to record and watch every episode of General Hospital, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and any other western or James Bond movie she could find on TV. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and cherished every milestone of their lives. Born with a green thumb, she enjoyed gardening and ensured she had a pot for every type of plant and fruiting tree she could find. She made sure somehow we ended up with almost every type of animal you could legally keep at our house (the goat couldn’t stay, but the duck, rabbits, dogs, cats, love birds, fish, guinea pig, and hamsters did!!). A viewing and visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., with Trisagion Prayers at 6:30 p.m., on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Joseph J. Earthman Generations, 234 Westcott Street in Houston, Texas 77007. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, September 6, 2024 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3511 Yoakum Blvd. in Houston, Texas 77006. The burial service will follow at Glenwood Cemetery, 2525 Washington Ave., Houston, TX 77007 with a reception at Laurenzo’s located at 4412 Washington Ave., Houston, TX 77007 immediately following the burial.
