Fouad Yacoub Rafeedie Funeral Service (click here). Fouad Yacoub Rafeedie, beloved husband and father, peacefully passed away at home on June 28th, surrounded by his loving family. Fouad was born on April 11, 1957 in El-Bireh, Palestine to Yacoub and Zahwa Rafeedie and was the 8th of 9 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister, Mousa, Issa, Husam, and Nijmeh. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Ghadeer Khalaf Rafeedie, sons Wissam and Shadi (Levy), daughter Lena Rafeedie Ganase (Morgan), and his precious grandson, Remy. Fouad is also survived by his brothers, Issam (Lydia), Bassam (Dina), Wissam (Rula), his sister Nuha, sisters in law Oufa, Randa, and Salwa, and countless nieces and nephews as well as the entire Khalaf family. Fouad was a kind, generous, and gracious man who loved his family deeply. He was a man of faith and character who made a difference in countless lives. Fouad legally emigrated from Palestine to the United States at the age of seventeen and lived in Youngstown, Ohio prior to moving to Houston in 1990. He attended Youngstown State University and graduated with a Masters Degree in Clinical Chemistry and has always been self-employed. Fouad was a proud, patriotic Palestinian- American who believed in and fought for human rights for all, regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity. He was a proud board member of PACC, The Palestinian American Cultural Center. Fouad was instrumental in helping organize the Palestinian Festival in Houston every year to share our culture and further educate our youth. Fouad was a warm, kind, soul and had a great sense of humor. He made everyone who met him feel welcome and part of the family. His home was always open to those who entered. Several of our childrens’ friends called him “Pops” and regarded him as a dad because he cared. He supported many causes…mainly feeding hungry families, educating our youth, and supporting the sick. He made a difference in many lives. Fouad had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. Whenever there was a gathering, Fouad was the life of the party with laughter and song. He also instilled the love of country and family through the lyrics that he sang. His greatest legacy is his children and the positive impact he had on so many lives. Our family is grateful for the love and support that we are receiving from so many people near and far. A visitation with the family will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by a Trisagion and funeral service at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at St. George Orthodox Christian Church, 5311 Mercer Street in Houston, Texas. Interment will follow at 11:30 a.m., July 1, 2020 at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
